Abstract

Large crystals of pure silver bromide have been exposed to a sharp pencil of monochromatic light. Experiments suggest that such crystals may show the same behaviour to exposure as photographic emulsions, giving all the stages from the negative image to the re-reversal and the print-out. A curve similar to the characteristic curve of photographic emulsions has been established for a single crystal of pure AgBr. Experimental results lead to a new interpretation of the re-reversal.
