Abstract

Some cyclohexadiene-(1,4)-derivatives have been irradiated with UV-light; no isomerisations to the tricyclo (3,2,0,02,4) hexane-systems have been observed. Instead H-transfer takes place of the homodienyl type. By a sequence of photochemical and thermal valence isomerisations a new route to substituted oxepines from furane and acetylene derivatives has been achieved.
