Einige allgemeine Betrachtungen zum Problem der elektrochemischen und katalytischen Reaktivität von Manganoxiden

Abstract

The studies carried out during the last years in the laboratory of the author have shown how the problem of reactivity of manganese oxides can now be tackled. Particularly the relationships between electrochemical and catalytic properties and physical properties of the oxides have been investigated. The influence of ions of variable valencies has been studied in consideration of the presence of acidic OH-groups.
These investigations have led to technical processes by which a product known as “phylodine” is manufactured. Finally a general basic notion of active oxides is formulated.
