Abstract

Inorganic membranes show a selectivity for ion permeation. The theory of selective membranes is applied to corrosion phenomena. This discussion includes the formation of instable zinchydroxidechloride in solutions containing Cl and HCO3 as well as the agglomeration of FeSO4 in the corrosion process of iron in a SO2 containing atmosphere.
