Abstract

We propose for the rapid separation of metal traces, the use of soda lime glass. The basis of the separation and the optimum conditions are described. It is possible to separate by a static method (Batch method) the elements such as K+, Ag+, Cd2+, Co2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Pb2+, Fe3+ as well as Na+ and Ca2+ on glass previously treated by a solution of LiOH. The exchange capacity is of the order of 10-3 meq/g.
