Abstract

The general theory of precipitation and of dissolution is applied to the hydrolysis of CaHPO4∙2 H2O to hydroxyapatite. A kinetic model is proposed. The results of the simulation and of the experimental data allow to determine the mechanisms of the hydrolysis, the structure of the calcic apatites and the existence of a compound Ca6(HPO4)6.
