Abstract

On the basis of spectroscopic investigations (MS, 1H-NMR, UV, IR), elemental analysis, and degradation reactions, the molecular structure of a new peptide alkaloid, discarine-E, from the bark extract of Discaria febrifuga Mart. has been elucidated.
