Abstract

The two compounds Na6[VIV18O42H9(VVO4)]∙21 H2O (1) and (NH4)8[VlV12VV6O42(SO4)]∙25 H2O (2) have been prepared and characterized by X-ray structure analysis. Both anions exhibit a large difference in the electron population of their V18O42 cluster shells.
