Abstract

Analysis by gas chromatography of the heavy fractions of coal tar calls for working temperatures up to 400 °C. A method is described to execute gas chromatography at such high temperatures and the interpretation of the diagrams obtained is discussed. By a selection of analysis carried out under those conditions the possibilities are demonstrated which high temperature gas chromatography offers in the study of coal tars and their components.
