Exposition et développement simultanés de plaques cristallines de bromure d’argent

Thin polycristalline sheets of pure silver bromide have been developed indirectly at the contact of a platinum wire connecting the crystal with a photographic developer. During the development the crystal was exposed several times to an intensive flash of white light.
A sudden decrease of the electrical current measured during the development shows that fewer bromide ions leave the crystal at the moment of exposure. A mechanism is discussed involving the trapping of bromide ions by positive holes.
