Makrozyklen mit 2,6-überbrückten Pyridinringen

Cyclisation of 1,2-di-(6,-chloromethyl-2'-pyridyl)-ethane by means of sodium and tetraphenylethylene in tetrahydrofurane led to 2,6-bridged pyridinophanes, The macrocyclic [2.2.2.2] (2,6)pyridinophane and [2.2.2.2.2.2] (2,6)pyridinophane were isolated in pure state. The structure of these new heterocyclic ring systems was confirmed by NMR and mass spectra analyses.
