Abstract

The assumed 1:1-addition product between benzaldazine and N-n-butylmaleinimide has been found to be a mixture or an unstable molecular addition compound of 1 part bisimide L (one of the 3 isomeric 1:2-addition products of benzaldazine and N-butylmaleinimide) and 1 part of benzaldazine. Thus, the azetidine structures of both the «1:1-adduct» and bisimide L are absolete. A new stereostructure for bisimide L is proposed.
