On the Determination of the Reaction Order from the Curvature of the Kinetic Curve

Abstract

The method of Kazragis for the determination of the order of simple chemical reactions from the curvature of the kinetic curve was tested systematically. If the percentage of disappearance of the reactant lies between ca. 20 and 90, the accuracy of the method is mostly within 5% of the actual reaction order. In the computer-version of this procedure, the tedious construction of the kinetic curve falls off and the method makes it possible to treat a great number of data.
