Abstract

By addition of a strong base it is often possible to decompose the antimony(III) complexes dissolved in water under formation of oversaturated solutions of mononuclear antimony(III) hydroxide. A method for the investigation of the complex formation of the antimony(III) ion based on this fact is developed and applied to systems containing the following ligands: ethylenediaminetetraacetate ion, 1,2-diaminocyclohexanetetraacate ion, diethylenetriaminepentaacetate ion, tartrate ion and dithiotartrate ion.
