Photochemie eines Pentadienaldehyds
DOI:
https://doi.org/10.2533/chimia.1968.483Abstract
Irradiation of pentadienaldehyde (1) or (2) leads to ketene (4) in high yield through a 1,5-hydrogen shift. The ketene (4) itself is photolabile, forming hydrocarbon (7) by loss of carbon monoxide upon further irradiation. At room temperature ketene (4) reverts to starting pentadienaldehyde (2) in a thermal (1,5)-sigmatropic rearrangement.
