Contact films permitting roomlight handling have to meet important requirements in respect to available light sources for their exposure and also in terms of image quality. Practical methods for assessing image quality are dealt with in detail. Next a number of non-silver photochemical materials are reviewed by explaining their basic mechanism with an indication of their principal advantages and also their constraints.
Finally an account is given of the particularities of silverhalide based roomlight films: emulsion parameters, processing conditions and image quality are discussed in detail.
