Abstract

On the occasion of Peter J.W. Debye’s hundreth birthday his contributions to polymer and colloid science were sketched with emphasis on his last work on the range of molecular forces from critical opalescence studies in organic polymer solutions. The significance of this work for present research in colloid and interface science has been mentioned.
