Abstract

The authors present a rapid destructive method for the determination of hafnium traces in scandium. The separation of Hf and Sc as sulphuric complexes is performed on anion-exchanger. After separation Hf is determined by neutron activation analysis.
Based on experimental results an hypothesis has been made about the presence of a fourth sulphuric complex of hafnium.
