Abstract

Monocrystalline plates of AgBr were treated on one side with Ag110m, and exposed to a beam of light 1 mm wide. Following by autoradiography the emission of beta-rays in function of time, one observes at first a clear image which enlarges itself, disappears and is replaced by an image of the same width as the beam of light and darker than the surrounding region. Rate of diffusion of silver ions and strong absorption of the beta-rays by silver bromide may be the cause of this phenomenon.
